IGNOU is the biggest open University in India which conducts mid term Semesters at the month of June & December every year. Every year lakhs of students appear for various courses offered by IGNOU which includes MBA, MCA, BA, BCom, BCA, BBA, BEd and other distance education courses.

Accenture Placement Drive at SRM University On 17th Decemeber

Good News for the SRM Univiersity students. As Accenture is scheduled for a placement drive at SRM University, Kattankulathur Campus on December 17th, 2012.

Well as there were very few campus recruitment arrived this year, this news can bring smile to many faces.

The recruitment notification is as follows :

Note:  Accenture is going to provide training to all the selected candidates immediately after the selection process. So candidates are advised not to make any plans for Christmas or New Year.

AFCAT August 2012 Result Cancelled

AFCAT August 2012 Result Cancelled 

Air Force Common Admission Test was held on 26 August 2012 and AFCAT 2012 Exam Result was declared on 26 September 2012. But the result was cancelled today due to technical discrepancies.

According to AFCAT Official Portal :

"DUE TO SYSTEM GENERATED TECHNICAL ERROR, RESULTS OF AFCAT 02/2012 DECLARED ON 26 SEPTEMBER 12 (FOR THE AFCAT HELD ON 26 AUGUST 12) AND E MAILS RECEIVED BY THE CANDIDATES ON 26/ 27 SEPTEMBER 12
STATING THAT THEY HAVE BEEN SHORTLISTED FOR SSB TESTING STAND
CANCELLED. FRESH RESULTS OF AFCAT 02/2012 WILL BE UPLOADED ON THE
WEBSITE SHORTLY. THE ERROR IS DEEPLY REGRETTED."

This news can bring shock to many of the candidates who were shortlisted earlier,since there is a possibility that they may not be able to clear the written exam this time. On the other hand some candidates can make through the next round as they can now expect to clear AFCAT August 2012 written exam.

Well, the main reason behind the cancellation of the result is the technical fault that may have arisen in the IAF database.

CutOff For AIEEE 2012, AIEEE Cut Off Marks

Common Entrance Test Engineering For IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc

Now, All the Engineering aspirants have to appear for the common entrance test for engineering from 2013 for seeking admission in topmost engineering colleges of India. The decision came from Kapil Sibal , HRD Minister  after chairing a meeting with the joint councils of IITs, NITs and IIITs.


After the introduction of new Common Entrance Test for Engineering, there will be no IIT-JEE and AIEEE from 2013.A whole new pattern has been introduced for the new entrance exam while Class 12th Board Marks will also be taken into consideration for seeking admission into IITs and NITs.

New Common Engineering Entance Exam Pattern 

Candidates have two appear for the two tests i.e. Main Test and an Advanced Test. Both the tests will be conducted on the same day. 

* For seeking admission into centrally funded universities and institutions the weight-age distribution will be as follows:

~ 40 % weightage for Class 12th Performance , 30 % weightage for performance in Main Test and finally 30 % wightage for Advanced Test Performance.

* For seeking admission into IITs, filtering process will be involved which is as follows :-

~ 50 % weightage to Class 12th performance and rest 50 % weightage to Main Test performance. While the top 50,000 candidates will be taken into consideration for the Advance Test along with accounting the performance in 12th class and Main Test.

" Candidates will be only eligible for IITs based on the merit prepared on there performance in Advanced Tests." 

Well Sibbal justified the introduction of the new Common Entrance Test Engineering by saying that the candidate will now have to focus on the single entrance exam. The student will have to worry about the rank in just single entrance exam  and thus they will be relieved from extra pressure. Simultaneously student can get the rank for IITs, NITs and IIITs at the same time.

Many State Governments are also keen in adapting the new format for engineering entrance in the state government colleges. 

The new format have received mixed reactions from the students. Well I personally feel its not a good move by Government and especially Kapil Sibal by introducing Common Entrance Test Engineering.
